the zoo

You can help support the costs of maintaining this website by purchasing the editable slides I used to make this, and making your own particle interactions here!

Particle physics is amazing.  It is awesome in the literal sense of the word.  The problem with it is that you have to use nothing but imagination to visualise what is happening between all the particles.  You then need to remember a whole family of new particles, and how those particles to combine to form other particles.  Then, you need to remember a whole bunch of characteristics of these newly learnt particles.

Couple that with the fact that most people's prior knowledge when starting to learn about particle physics can be summed up with 'protons and neutrons form the nucleus, and electrons go round the nucleus' and no wonder people have a rough time learning this topic.

This lead me to create a more visually appealing way of teaching the particle zoo to high school students.

Up down strange charm, it don't matter.
